NAME: Paul R. Morrow, Ed.D.
OCCUPATION: Board of Trustees Member, HBCSD
As a resident of the City of Huntington Beach for the past 30+ years I take great pride in not only being a long-term resident but in contributing to one of the most important aspects of our community, our school system.
As a principal I have been able to assist three schools (Moffett, Sowers and Marina) achieve recognition as California Distinguished Schools and one as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
The HBCSD has a tradition of excellence in the education of our cities youth. Programs for at-risk students, athletics, extracurricular activities, advanced learning opportunities, music, art and both traditional and creative overall instructional practices need to continue and can do so with careful management of resources, staff collaboration and community support.
The years of experience as an educator that I bring to being a trustee include 37+ years as a teacher and administrator participation in our city's rich history and surfing culture, a doctorate in Educational Management and the successful management of six outstanding schools placed in my care.
I would be more than proud to work for you in providing a focus on educational excellence through sound and collaborative management.
